I have been thinking recently about what camp is going to look like next year and part of me really wants to do something similar to theme "BIG" that we did in 2015. For that theme, we talked about how big God is, and how we can see Him working in the details of our lives. I talk to many students that don't see God working in their life, because they aren't looking for it. This morning Charissa sent me a picture/quote from Louie Giglio that summarized so much of what I have been thinking. With it, he shared, 1 Samuel 17:37, "The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine."
What has God done in your life recently? If you have a story of God working in your life recently, or a prayer request, please call or email me (tjmorris@forwardbiblecamp.com). We want to pray for you and hear what God is doing around us.
Recently, I have been thrilled with the volunteers that God provides to come along side me. Sometimes doing things that we just don't have time for, and sometimes doing things that I couldn't figure out if I had all the time in the world. Recently we had a few large trees die and God provided Jacob and Seth to come up (yet again, because they love this ministry and up here regularly) and remove a giant cedar that posed a risk from falling branches. This tree was massive at 60 inches and took some time and planning to get down.
God also provided Emma, who is redoing four of our mini golf holes as her Eagle Scout project. Her family and troop are doing great and hope to finish the four holes on their next work day.
Thank the Lord for continuing to protect the camp and providing skilled people to do all the things that are needed in the background, so that the Good news of Jesus can be shared at camp. This Summer we saw 24 young people commit and recommit their lives to Jesus, and God provided the supplies, volunteers, summer missionaries, and location to make that possible. Praise God!!
Our family is doing well. The kids are all in school and doing great. We are looking for a commuter car to help save gas money when we don't have to drive the SUV together. There are several times a week that we end up driving to town with less than all of us and we are looking for a Prius or something similar to cut down on expenses. Please pray that we find a great deal on a car that will last for years.
